On April 10th 2010, Cruise Cotterill joined P&O Cruises at the official Naming Ceremony of Azura, their then newest member of the fleet, which was named by Darcey Bussell CBE.
Before the official naming took place late that evening, Harry Cotterill, Chairman & Artist, Cruise Cotterill and his father Brian Cotterill had the opportunity to meet with Carol Marlow, Managing Director, P&O Cruises.
Harry presented Carol Marlow with 3 drawings of Azura. One was for herself, one for Captain Keith Dowds and the other for the Chairman of Carnival Corporation PLC, Mickey Arison.
On the day, sister ship, Ventura was also docked in Southampton and before the naming took place, sailed pass Azura.
Darcey Bussell officially named Azura in style and no sooner than the bottle had smashed fireworks lit up the night sky!
The ceremony was followed by a gala dinner, which all guests where invited to attend, before exploring the ships amenities well into the night.
Each guest was presented with a pair of bespoke flutes, commemorating their time aboard Azura. Only 1,000 pairs we produced.
We were very thankful to P&O Cruises for allowing us to be part of such a special occasion.
