Royal Caribbean International’s soon to launch Spectrum of the Seas has arrived in Eemshaven, following its conveyance along the River Ems from the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
Spectrum of the Seas departed the shipyard early on the morning of 20 March 2019, before arriving at Eemshaven the following day.

Royal Caribbean International’s soon to launch Spectrum of the Seas has left the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany and began its conveyance of the River Ems.
The ship left the shipyard early on the morning of 20 March 2019 and will continue its journey along the River Ems to Eemshaven.
The departure of Spectrum of the Seas from the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany has been postponed by a day, as the shipyard waits for water levels to rise.
The ship is the latest cruise ship at the shipyard to be constructed for Royal Caribbean International and will join the fleet in April 2019.
Royal Caribbean International’s newest ship, Spectrum of the Seas, was floated out from the construction hall at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany on 25 February 2019.
The ship is the cruise line’s first Quantum-Ultra class vessel and is now berthed in the shipyard’s basin. The shipyard will continue the outfitting of the ship here before it leaves for sea trials later this year.

The brand new Oasis-class ship is expected to be delivered to Royal Caribbean International and join the fleet in autumn 2023.

At the steel cutting ceremony, which took place on 01 February 2019, the name of the new ship could clearly be seen at Odyssey of the Seas. The ship 168,666 gross tonne ship will be a sister ship to Spectrum of the Seas, which is due to launch in spring 2019.
For the first time ever, Royal Caribbean International will offer cruises from Cape Liberty, New Jersey on one of its Oasis Class cruise ships.
Oasis of the Seas will spend summer 2020 sailing from Cape Liberty, New Jersey. The ship will offer cruise in duration of four to seven-nights, including cruise itineraries to the Caribbean and Canada.
Royal Caribbean International has trademarked the name Metropolis of the Seas. The trademark was registered by the cruise line on 01 October 2018.
The trademark is just one of multiple trademarked names which the cruise line has registered in recent months.
Guests on board Royal Caribbean International’s Explorer of the Seas enjoyed a magical view of the Perseid Meteor Shower this week as the cruise ship sailed towards Alaska.
The ship’s lights were dimmed especially to allow guests the best possible chance of seeing the meteor showers above the ship.
