Royal Caribbean International's newest and largest ship ever Icon of the Seas has successfully completed its second series of sea trials, and returned to the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland.
Icon of the Seas is the first in a series of three mega cruise ships, each carrying around 7,600 passengers and 2,805 crew. Icon of the Seas measures 365 metres in length and is 20 decks high.

Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed its next addition to the Prima Class with the all-new Norwegian Aqua, setting sail in April 2025.
Spanning 1,056 feet, Norwegian Aqua will accommodate 3,571 passengers, home to the world's first hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide, the Aqua Slidecoaster, with exhilarating dual slides and a magnetic lift that propels guests through two different courses featuring three stories of speedy twists and turns around the ship's funnel.

In 100 days from today (19 October 2023), the new world’s largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean International’s Icon of the Seas will set sail from Miami, Florida on its first seven-night cruise to the Caribbean.
The giant 250,800-ton mega ship is currently under construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland. The ship, which is more than six times largest than the Titanic, is expected to be delivered to Royal Caribbean International before the end of 2023.

Celebrity Cruises latest newbuild ship, Celebrity Ascent, lived up to its name, reaching the pinnacle of its construction milestones with the successful completion of its first series of sea trials.
During the traditional shipbuilding process known as sea trials, Celebrity Ascent completed a series of manoeuvrability skills designed to test the ship’s functional and operational capabilities, which she passed with flying colours.

The new world’s largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean International’s Icon of the Seas, has left the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, to undertake its first sea trials.
The giant new ship, still under construction, left the shipyard on the morning of 19 June 2023, a day later than planned due to strong winds in the area. The ship was assisted by four tugboats when leaving the berth at the shipyard.

PortMiami, known as ‘the cruise capital of the world’, recently celebrated its busiest cruise passenger day ever.
On 09 April 2023, a record breaking 67,594 cruise passengers passed through the port, sailing on eight different cruise ships.

The launch of the new world’s largest cruise ship, Icon of the Seas nears closer. The brand-new ship, which is currently under construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard, is expected to begin its first sea trials in mid-June 2023.
Sea trials are one of the most important milestones in the construction of a new ship, as it nears completion. The sea trials, which usually last several days, allow a way for all the ship’s features to be tested, which cannot be tested while in port. It’s also period when noise and vibration levels can be monitored.
Royal Caribbean International has released its latest episode in its ‘Making an Icon’ video series, featuring the construction of its newest and largest cruise ship yet, Icon of the Seas.
