The new year is kicking off with an iconic celebration. On 10 January 2024, Royal Caribbean International’s highly anticipated Icon of the Seas took centre stage as it arrived in Miami for the first time. The first-of-its-kind combination of the best of every vacation was welcomed with fanfare by air, land and sea, ahead of its official debut on Jan. 27.

On 13 October 2023, MSC Cruises’ highly anticipated new flagship, MSC Euribia - a vessel which features the most energy-efficient cruise ship design ever, arrived into Southampton on its maiden call.
The cutting-edge cruise ship, was officially named earlier this year on at Copenhagen Port on 08 June 2023, honouring traditional maritime heritage, presented by renowned Danish television host, actress and model Sarah Grünewald.

A year following the first ever meeting of Azamara’s sister ships, the fleet came together again in Koper, Slovenia for another #AzamaraSistersMeet, on 05 October 2023.
In celebration of the fleet’s arrival, the Vice Mayor of Koper, Mateja Hrvatin Kozlovic, presented the fleet’s captains of the four ships with a plaque to commemorate this occasion and celebrate the collaboration between Azamara and local partners and officials.

Portland Port in Dorset, United Kingdom, has celebrated a record-breaking double-call day, with two large cruise ships berthing simultaneously.
The docking at the same time as the 330m Regal Princess and 326m Norwegian Getaway was the largest by vessels size that the port has accommodated in its 27-year history.

Portsmouth harbour welcomed its largest visitor yet, when the TUI cruise ship Mein Schiff 3 docked at the cruise terminal on 26 May 2023.
Measuring 293.3m in length and weighing 99,536 in gross tonnage TUI cruise ship Mein Schiff 3 takes the accolade of the largest ship to ever sail into Portsmouth harbour, demonstrating the growing capabilities of Portsmouth International Port to manage a wider range of ships.

PortMiami, known as ‘the cruise capital of the world’, recently celebrated its busiest cruise passenger day ever.
On 09 April 2023, a record breaking 67,594 cruise passengers passed through the port, sailing on eight different cruise ships.

2023 will see Portsmouth International Port host more maiden calls and welcome back iconic cruise lines, as it continues to cement its place as the first choice for luxury, boutique and expedition cruise brands.
The initial release of the 2023 cruise schedule will see many cruise passengers begin their journeys in the city, or alternatively stop in Portsmouth to experience the wide range of world-class attractions on offer.
Portsmouth International Port have released their initial cruise schedule for 2022, which sees an impressive number of maiden calls from both new cruise lines, and ships, over the next 12 months.
