The delivery of AIDA’s largest cruise ship yet, the 183,900 gross tonne AIDAnova has been further delayed.
The vessel is now expected to set sail on its inaugural cruise on 19 December 2018. All scheduled cruise prior to this date have been cancelled.
The largest and newest cruise ship ever to be built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany has successfully completed its conveyance of the Ems River from the shipyard to Eemshaven.
The 183,900 gross tonne AIDAnova departed the shipyard on the morning of 08 October 2018, navigating numerous locks, bridges and barriers before it arrived in Eemshave at approximately 09:00 on 09 October 2018.

AIDA Cruises has taken delivery of its latest new cruise ship, AIDAperla. The ship was delivered from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagaski, Japan.
The 124,100 gross tonne ship is the second new cruise ship for AIDA Cruises which has been constructed in Japan and is a sister ship to AIDAprima which launched in 2016.

AIDA Cruises is to offer its guests up to 26 different speciality coffees and teas from a new Starbucks outlet on board its flagship, AIDAprima.
Starbuck already has outlets on board other cruise ships but this is the first time that the America coffee chain has opened an outlet on a German cruise ship. The drinks will be served from the Pier 3 Market on board AIDAprima on Deck 3.
AIDA Cruises has announced that its newest cruise ship, the AIDAperla will be launching two months earlier than planned and will arrive in the Western Mediterranean in July 2017.
The 124,700 gross tonne ship will arrive in Palma de Mallorca on 01 July 2017 and offer seven-night cruises, visiting Barcelona, Civitavecchia, Corsica and Livorno.
AIDA Cruises has announced its widest variety of cruises to date for 2018. The German-based cruise lines has also announced that its new ship, AIDAperla will cruise from Hamburg during summer 2018, following her winter debut season in the Mediterranean.
The 125,000 gross tonne AIDAperla will begin operating Mediterranean cruises from 01 September 2017. Cruises from Hamburg will commence from March 2018, operating seven-day cruises to Southampton, Le Havre, Zeebrugge and Rotterdam.
