Crowds gathered on the banks of the River Thames as the cruise ship Aegean Odyssey which is operated by Voyages To Antiquity set sail from Tower Bridge for the very first time.
The 1973-built cruise ship had departed Tower Bridge on 22 July 2018 at approximately 21:00. Due to her small size at just 11,906 gross tonnes and with a length of 140 metres the ship is small enough to sail rivers and call into many smaller ports which much larger cruise ships similar cannot.
Following months of research, Voyages to Antiquity is to offer cruises in the Caribbean and Cube in Winter 2017 on board the 350-passenger Aegean Odyssey.
Voyages to Antiquity are known for cruising lesser-known and lesser-explorers regions of the world but this will be the visits first the cruise line have offered cruises to this part of the world.
