Cruise Cruises is to spend more than $500-millon upgrading its fleet of cruise ships. ‘The Celebrity Revolution’ will see luxury cruise line partner with more than 500 architects, designers and engineers.
The fleet wide revolution will see upgrade on all ships, bringing them to the same standard as the Edge-class vessel, the first of which, Celebrity Edge is due to launch in November 2018.

Celebrity Cruises will introduce new suites on board its existing Millennium and Solstice class ships, designed by Kelly Hoppen, who has designed many of the public spacious on board the ground-breaking new Celebrity Edge. Kelly Hoppen, said: “This was a new and exciting challenge to recreate something stylish and luxurious yet totally different from the accommodations that I have designed for the Celebrity Edge. I wanted to invoke a feeling of timeless luxury that welcomed guests into their own haven. Your bedroom is where you sleep and where you wake, two of the most important times of day, especially when you are on vacation.” The Celebrity Revolution will see concepts from Celebrity Edge incorporated across the fleet, including the brand new exclusive sanctuary for Suite Class guests, called The Retreat. All Millennium and Solstice Class ships will offer The Retreat Sundeck and The Retreat Lounge.
Celebrity Cruises will collaborate with hospitality design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) to redesign and transform the staterooms. All staterooms will feature a new design to rival the world’s best boutiques according to the cruise line. Each stateroom will be fitter with Celebrity Cruises’ eXhale bedding featuring cashmere mattresses, RFID locks, Xcelebrate and Bluetooth capabilities.

The speciality restaurant Qsine will be added to all ships in the fleet and completed reimagined, offering the cruise line’s virtual Le Petit Chef experience, created by Skullmapping and presented by TableMation exclusively for Celebrity.
The Oceanveiw Café buffet will be redesigned with an spacious, airy, marketplace-inspired designed, whilst all main restaurants will undergo changes and improvements, with new textures and designs. The Celebrity Revolution will also see other features from the Edge-Class introduced across the fleet, including the new SEA Thermal Suite, new shopping experiences and designer brands and products, improvements to all bars and lounges and other public areas, including The Hideaway and The Library. Celebrity Millennium will be the first ship to benefit from the changes and improvements of The Celebrity Revolution in 2019 and the more than $500-million improvement project will continue across the fleet until 2023.
