MSC Cruises has announced that superstar tenor, Andrea Bocelli will be performing at the naming ceremony of its newest ship, MSC Bellissima in Southampton.
Bocelli will perform alongside his son Matteo during the traditional Officers’ Parade at the ceremony, which will take place in Southampton, shore side next to the ship in a custom-built marquee at City Cruise Terminal on 02 March 2019.
The Officers’ Parade will recognise the crew members’ service and dedication to their work roles for MSC Cruises. The Italian father-son duo will also be singing ‘Fall on Me’, a song from Andrea’s latest new album, which is called Si.
MSC Cruises is a proud supporter of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation which carries out work in Haiti supported by donations from guests on board the MSC Seaside. Bocelli performed at the naming ceremony of MSC Poesia in Dover in 2017 and MSC Seaside in Miami in December 2018.
Guests attending the naming ceremony will also be treated to performances from Nile Rodgers and his band Chic and Cirque du Soleil.
ITV’s Holly Willoughby will host the event, with the ship’s Godmother, Sophia Loren cutting the ribbon to mark the official naming of the brand new cruise ship.
