Celebrity Cruises has revealed more details about its upcoming new cruise ship, Celebrity Edge, which is currently under construction in France, at the STX shipyard in St Nazaire. The new ship is expected to launch in December 2018.

At an event held in New York City on 27 June 2017, Celebrity Cruises revealed details about another innovative space on board Celebrity Edge.

Eden is a three-deck high terraced lounge located at the stern of the ship on Deck 3, 4 and 5. It will feature an outward facing design, with floor to ceiling windows covering nearly 7,000 square feet. The venue with a capacity of 325 will feature a 92 metre long ramped walkway which will spiral down, offering unprecedented sea views.

Eden will be a place where passengers on board Celebrity Edge can relax, grab a bite to eat, learn new things and be entertained. Activities in Eden will vary throughout the day, from sitar players, aerialists and cooking demonstrations during the day, to live performances, music and culinary treats at night.

Eden will offer no less than two places to eat. The Eden Café on Deck 5 will provide complimentary breakfast and lunch, with two al fresco areas offering passengers the opportunity to dine whilst taking in the sea views and air.

The Eden Restaurant located on Deck 4, will be a fine dining speciality venue which will feature an open kitchen concept. During the day live cooking demonstrations and classes will take place, along with wine tasting. A unique and dominant feature of the restaurant will be the Tree of Life. This follows on from Celebrity Cruises’ signature living trees located in the atriums on board the Solstice-Class ships.

The Eden Bar will serve artisanal cocktails made from fresh ingredients and garnishes sourced from Eden’s very own 18-feet-hall Library of Plants. Cocktails making classes will also be on offer here.

The 129,500 gross tonne Celebrity Edge, with a capacity of 2,900 passengers will cruise the Eastern Caribbean and Western Caribbean. The maiden voyage will depart Fort Lauderdale, Florida on 16 December 2018.
