Cruise & Maritime Voyages Take Delivery Of Columbus

British-based cruise line, Cruise & Maritime Voyages has taken delivery of its new flagship Columbus, which was most recently known as Pacific Pearl and operated cruises with P&O Cruises Australia.
 
The ship was originally launched in 1989 and has been operated by a number of cruise lines. Pacific Pearl has now completed her farewell voyage from Australia to Singapore, where the ship will undergo a refurbishment.

​Now known as Columbus, the ship will undergo a refurbishment in Singapore. Columbus will depart Singapore on 19 April 2017. Around 300 crew members and 100 specialist contractors will remain on board as the ship cruising through the Suez Canal to a shipyard in Rotterdam. Once in Europe the ship will be given painted in the Cruise & Maritime Voyages colours and refurbishment work will be completed.
 
The ship is expected to arrive in London, Tilbury on 05 June 2017. The official re-naming of the ship and gala dinner will take place on 08 June, followed by a number of overnight and lunch events for trade partners and the public.
 
Columbus will set sail from London, Tilbury on her first voyage with Cruise & Maritime Voyages on 11 June 2017. The three-night cruise will visit Amsterdam and Antwerp. In January 2018 the ship will depart on a 121-night world cruise.
