Cruise & Maritime Voyages has officially taken delivery of its new ship, Vasco da Gamma, following a formal re-naming ceremony in Singapore.
The British-based cruise line took delivery of the 55,877 gross tonne ship at 19:48 (Singapore local time) on 03 April 2019. The ship is expected to undergo a refurbishment before its maiden voyage with Cruise & Maritime Voyages.
The maiden voyage of Vasco da Gama will depart from Singapore on 24 April 2019. The 46-night cruise will visit South East Asia, the Indian subcontinent, Egypt, the Suez Canal, Israel, the Mediterranean before arriving into London Tilbury, Amsterdam and Bremerhaven.
The 1,220-passenger Vasco da Gamma will be deployed and dedicated to the German and Australasian cruise markets. During the northern summer, between May and October the ship will be operated under the cruise line’s German brand, Transocean Kreuzfahrten and will home port from Bremerhaven and Kiel. In the Australia summer season between December and March the ship will cruise from Fremantle and Adelaide.
