Royal Caribbean International’s Empress of the Seas is to homeport in Tampa in summer 2017, whilst also offering cruises to Cuba. The ship will make its first visit to Cuba on 19 April 2017, a five-night cruise from Miami. Following this cruise Empress of the Seas will be repositioned to Tampa and offer a further two calls to Cuba, comprising of a seven-night cruise departing on 30 April and a five-night cruise on 20 May. Empress of the Seas will spend the remainder of the summer operating four and five-night cruise itineraries, with details to be announced by Royal Caribbean International at a later date.

As the unrivalled innovators of the cruise experience, no company is better positioned to help adventurers explore and experience this culturally rich destination.” The 1,600-passenger Empress of the Seas is the first ship which Royal Caribbean International has based in Tampa for the summer season. The larger 1,998-passenger Rhapsody of the Seas and the 2,100-passenger Brilliance of the Seas will both cruise from Tampa during the winter season, offering cruises to the Caribbean.
