The fifth Royal-class ship built for Princess Cruises, Enchanted Princess has been floated out of the dry dock at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy.
The 145,000 gross tonne ship is scheduled to be delivery to the cruise line in 2020.
Attending the float out ceremony at the shipyard were representatives from the cruise line and shipyard, including Firouz Mal, Director Newbuild Services, Princess Cruises and Roberto Olivari, Director, Fincantieri Monfalcone.
The Godmother of the float out ceremony was a female employee of the shipyard, Miss Marinella Cossu.
Enchanted Princess is the fifth Royal-class ship for Princess Cruises and sister ship to Royal Princess, Regal Princess, Majestic Princess and the upcoming Sky Princess, which is also currently under construction at the shipyard.
Princess Cruises also have two next-generation cruise ships on order from Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. The ships will be the largest ever built in Italy at 175,000 gross tonne.
The new larger ships will be dual-fuelled, powered primarily by liquefied natural gas (LNG). Delivery is scheduled for winter 2023 and spring 2025.
