Norwegian Cruise Line has announced Kelly Clarkson as Godmother to its newest ship, Norwegian Encore, which is set to debut in Miami in November 2019.
The announcement was made on the ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’. The cruise line’s President & CEO, Andy Stuart appeared on the daytime television show aired in the United States, to invite Kelly Clarkson to be Godmother to Norwegian Encore.
The christening ceremony for Norwegian Encore will take place in Miami on 21 November 2019. Kelly Clarkson will undertake the longstanding tradition of officially naming the ship at the ceremony.
Andy Stuart, President and CEO, said: “We knew we wanted someone who represents our core values. Kelly is a role model who is passionate about family and community, as well as music and entertainment. These are our passions too! We are honored to have her join our family of godparents and look forward to celebrating Norwegian Encore’s debut in Miami with her, this November.”
Kelly Clarkson, said: “I am so honored to be named the godmother to Norwegian Encore, and to get to be a part of such a special ceremony to christen the new ship in Miami. In celebration of the announcement, Norwegian Cruise Line awarded 20 deserving music educators on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ a seven-night cruise each aboard Norwegian Encore.
The 4,004-passenger Norwegian Encore is the fourth a final Breakaway-Plus class ship and will offer seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruises from Miami.
