The British based cruise operator, Cruise & Maritime Voyages has taken the decision to divert one its cruise ships, the Marco Polo which is currently experiencing significant delays.
The cruise ship was scheduled to return to Hull at the end of its current Baltic Cities & St Petersburg cruise but now be docking at Newcastle instead.
According to Cruise & Maritime Voyages the cruise ship experienced long delays whilst transiting the Kiel Canal.
Marco Polo was scheduled to embark passengers in Hull on 11 July 2017 for one-night cruise to Edinburgh and a 21-night cruise to the Arctic, Greenland, Iceland and the Faroes Islands.
According to Cruise Capital, coaches will transport passengers between Hull and Newcastle, a two and a half hour journey, as well as organising transport for those passengers who should have been disembarking in Hull.
