The 1965-built Marco Polo, which is operated by the British cruise line, Cruise & Maritime Voyages, is to divert to Portland in Dorset on 13 February 2017.

The 800-passenger cruise ship is returning from a 39-night cruise and was due to return to Bristol, but due to bad weather in the North Atlantic and restricted tidal access to her berth in Bristol the ship will now berth at Portland in Dorset instead.

Those passengers scheduled to embark Marco Polo on the 15-night Land of the Northern Lights (P706) cruise are advised by Cruise & Maritime Voyages to continue to Bristol. A complimentary coach will be provided from Bristol to Portland. The coach journey will take two hours 30 minutes. Alternatively passengers can proceed directly to Portland, however Marco Polo will return to Bristol at the end of the cruise on 28 February 2017.

Marco Polo is scheduled to arrive in Portland at 09:00 on 13 February 2017. Embarkation is expected to commence in Portland at 16:00 until 19:00 and the ship is expected to depart at 23:00.
