The brand new 181,000 gross tonne MSC Grandiosa, which will become the new flagship of the MSC Cruises fleet, has set sail on a series of sea trials.
The 6,300-passenger ship is currently under construction at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
MSC Grandiosa is currently undertaking its first series of sea trials off the coast of France in the Bay of Biscay.
Chantiers de l'Atlantique is scheduled to deliver the new ship to MSC Cruises in November 2019. The christening ceremony will take place in Hamburg on 09 November 2019. The maiden voyage will depart Hamburg on 10 November 2019, cruising to the Mediterranean.
MSC Grandiosa is the first of two Meraviglia-Plus class ships for MSC Cruises. During her inaugural season the ship will cruise the Western Mediterranean on seven-night intineraries calling at Genoa, Civitavecchia, Palermo, Valletta, Barcelona and Marseille.
The new ship will become the cruise line’s newest flagship, which the biggest and richest in features ship yet to be built by MSC Cruises, she will live up to her name, which means magnificence and grandeur.
