The Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy has laid the keel for MSC Cruises’ first Seaside EVO ship, MSC Seashore.

At 339 metres, the ship will be the largest in the MSC Cruises fleet and the largest to be constructed in Italy. The 169,500 gross tonne ship is due to enter service in June 2021.

MSC Seashore will feature cutting-edge environmental technology. A selective catalytic reduction system on board the ship will reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by 90% and an exhaust gas cleaning system will remove 98% of sulfur oxide emissions.

The ballast water treatment system will comply with the rigorous US Coast Guard standards, whilst a next-generation advanced wastewater treatment system will meet the tough Baltic standard. The ship will also be equipped for shore power when docked in port.

The 5,866-passenger ship has been built upon the cruise line’s Seaside class of ships but the Seaside EVO class has been further enhanced and enlarged. 40 percent of the ship has been redesigned.

Changes to the design include lengthening the ship by some 16 metres, allowing for 200 additionally staterooms. MSC Seahsore will feature a larger MSC Yacht Club area and a new two-deck-high aft lounge and aft infinity pool.

The ship will also feature an additional 1,000 square metres of deck space.  More suites will be included on MSC Seashore, with the addition to 28 terraced suites, two suites with private whirlpools. There will also be two new MSC Yacht Club categories, including 41 deluxe grand suites and two owner’s suites with whirlpools.

For families the ship will also include connected rooms, with two or three adjoining stateroom which can sleep six to 10 people. There will also be 75 larger more spacious accessible staterooms.

MSC Seashore will also boast two new restaurants, including one exclusive for Aurea Spa guests. The five speciality restaurants will be repositioned to allow guests to dine alfresco on the ship’s external promenade. There will also be a larger casino and 20 bars. The indoor pool will also be bigger and the waterpark has been redesigned, as well as the kid’s zone.
