The latest edition to the rapidly expanding MSC Cruises fleet, the 154,000 gross tonne MSC Seaside is to set sail on its maiden voyage from the Italian port of Trieste.

The 5,179-passenger MSC Seaside is the 14th ship in the MSC Cruises fleet and was delivered to the cruise line from the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy on 29 November 2017.

MSC Seaside will depart Trieste on 01 December 2017 and will sail through the Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic Ocean and arriving in Miami on 21 December 2017. Here the ship will officially be named by its godmother Sophia Loren.

The new ship will be based in Miami and sail seven-night eastern and western Caribbean cruise itineraries.

MSC Seaside is a new prototype design for MSC Cruises and the first ship in its class. A sister ship, MSC Seaview will launch in June 2018. The new innovative ships feature a unique design, brining guests closer to the sea and allowing them to make the most of warmer weather. The ships feature many spacious outdoor spaces, including a wraparound promenade deck. The new ships also feature an increased number of balconies cabins.

Passenger amenities on board include various bars, lounges and restaurants, an aqua park with 5 water slides as well as the longest zip line at sea.
