The name of Disney Cruise Line’s new ship which is set to debut in January 2022 has been released as… Disney Wish.
The announcement was made by Bob Chapek, Chairman, Experiences and Products, Disney Parks at the D23 Expo on 25 August 2019.
The new ship will be around 144,000 gross tonnes and have 1,250 staterooms. It is set to be delivered to the cruise line in late 2021, before setting sail on its first cruise in January 2022.
Disney Wish will also be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) making the ship more environmentally friendly.
Disney Cruise Line released a new video of the ship and a rendering of the ship’s three-deck-high atrium, which is inspired by the beauty of an enchanted fairy-tale.
Disney Wish is the first of three new ships which the cruise line has ordered, each of which will be constructed at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
