The 169,145 gross tonne Norwegian Encore, which is currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, is preparing to float out as it leaves the building hall.
The ship is expected to exit the giant building hall on 17 August 2019 from around 08:00 local time. Following the float out, various tests will take place in the shipyard basin.
Norwegian Encore will leave the shipyard and head to the North Sea to undergo sea trials later this year, before it is delivered to Norwegian Cruise Line.
The 4,004-passenger ship, which is the fourth a final Breakaway-Plus class ship, will debut in November 2019, offering seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruises from Miami. Spanish artist Eduardo Arranz-Bravo was commissioned by the cruise line to create the artwork which will embellish the ship’s hull. The hull art features a labyrinth of colour inspired by Arranz-Bravo’s life by the sea in Barcelona and will pay tribute to the vibrant guest experience for which the Norwegian Cruise Line offers its guests.
