Royal Caribbean International has confirmed it has cancelled a number of sailings on board Oasis of the Seas, following an accident at the Grand Bahama shipyard on 01 April 2019.
The ship is currently in dry dock undergoing general maintenance and refurbishment work. A crane at the shipyard, on the floating dry dock, collapsed onto the stern of the ship.
A total of eight shipyard workers were injured as a result of the incident. Royal Caribbean confirmed none of the sustained injuries were life-threatening.
A total of three upcoming cruises have been cancelled. These include sailings on Oasis of the Seas which departure dates of 07 April, 14 April and 21 April 2019.
Royal Caribbean International will offer a full refund to those affect along with a future cruise certificated valued at 100% of the cruise. The cruise line will contact those passengers affected directly via email.
