The much loved 1995-built cruise ship Oriana has returned to her homeport of Southampton following her last ever cruise with P&O Cruises.

Oriana leaves the P&O Cruises fleet after 24 year of service. The 1,880-passenger ship is heading to China to be re-named and join another cruise line.

The ‘Farewell Oriana – Land of the Midnight Sun’ 18-night cruise departed Southampton on 22 July 2019. The ship visited ports of call such as Tórshavn - Leknes, Lofoten Island - Honningsvåg and North Cape – Longyearbyen - Tromsø, Norway - Ålesund, Norway and Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Oriana arrived back to Southampton on 09 August 2019, disembarking her last passengers. The ship will be transferred from berth 106 at Mayflower Cruise Terminal to berth 104. The ship will be unloaded before it is scheduled to depart on 16 August 2019 at midnight.

In May 2020, P&O Cruises will take delivery of its largest cruise ship yet, the 5,200-passenger Iona. A second sister ship will also join the fleet in 2022. Both 183,900 gross tonne ships will be the largest ever built for the British cruise market.
