The 1,546-passenger Pacific Dawn, which is operated by P&O Cruises Australia, has entered dry dock in Singapore, where it will undergo an extensive refurbishment before setting sail again in March 2017. New features will be added to the Australian based cruise ship, including the cruise line’s first ever state-of-the-art waterpark, two waterslides, an improved buffet area and a modernised nightclub. The Pantry will replace the traditional buffet area, with nine individual outlets offering different styles of cuisine. The pool deck will be revamped with a new poolside grill being added where passengers can grab and burger and other tasty snacks.
The Dome, which is the nightclub on board, will be completely transformed and will host live music performances. Bars and lounges on board including The Orient, Promenade Bar and Charlie’s Bar will also undergo a transformation. The three deck high atrium will feature new décor, similar to sister ships Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden. Pacific Dawn will depart on her next cruise following the refurbishment on 02 March 2017. The 14-night cruise will cruise from Singapore to Brisbane, Australia, visiting eight ports of call. Pacific Dawn and Pacific Aria will both operate cruises year-round from Brisbane, offering 108 different cruise itineraries.
