P&O Cruises has announced more details about its new LNG-powered ship which will be the largest cruise ship ever built for the British cruise market when it launches in 2020. The 180,000 gross tonne ship will feature a stunning atrium area with glass walls spanning three decks, letting natural light flood in and offering spectacular views of the ocean. The atrium will also feature a grand staircase, gallery and impressive overhead walkways providing dramatic focal points. On Deck 8 a full walk around half-mile Promenade will be home to multiple al fresco dining venues. In total there will be 17 dining venues including 7 speciality restaurants. There will be 9 places to enjoy breakfast and the ship will feature no less than 12 different bars to grab a drink or two.
Atop the new ship will feature a giant glass done complex which will boast an all-weather swimming pool, retractable stage for performances, a water feature and multiple casual dining options. At night, the complex will transform into a thrilling entertainment venues, showcasing dazzling aerial performances and spellbinding projections on the roof of the dome. The ship will have a total of 13 different entertainment venues as well as 4 swimming pools and 16 whirlpools located around the ship including on the Promenade located on Deck 8. P&O Cruises also announced that the name for the new 5,200 passenger ship will be decided by its guests. Bookings for cruises on the new ship will be on sale from autumn 2018.
