P&O Cruises has announced that a second new cruise ship will join the fleet in 2022. The new ship will be the largest cruise ship built exclusively for the British cruise market, sharing the title with her sister ship which is due to launch in 2020.

The new 180,000 gross tonne ship, like her sister, will have a capacity of 5,200 passengers and will be powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). Both of the new ship will be constructed at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

The next generation ship will offer a wide range of innovative new features, experiences on board, stylish interiors, the very latest dining trends and ground-breaking entertainment.

Paul Ludlow, Senior Vice President, P&O Cruises, said: “We have a bold and ambitious vision for P&O Cruises to become Britain's number one holiday choice and we can only do that by increasing our fleet. The build for our 2020 ship begins this spring and it will offer all generations of British guests the holiday of a lifetime on the next generation of P&O Cruises ships."
