P&O Cruises has announced that its new flagship, Iona which is set to launch in 2020 will cruise to the Norwegian Fjords during its inaugural season.
Iona is the largest cruise ship ever specifically designed for the British cruise market. The vessel will be powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) making it the most environmentally friendly ship ever built for P&O Cruises.
The 5,200-passenger ship will cruise exclusively to the Norwegian Fjords from Southampton offering a selection of seven-day cruises, visiting ports of call which include: Ålesund, Bergen, Geiranger, Olden and Stavanger.
Iona is currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The ship will depart Southampton on her maiden voyage in May 2020. Cruises on Iona will go on sale in September 2018.
