P&O Cruises has launched a competition to name their brand new cruise ship which isn’t due to set sail until 2020. The giant new 180,000 cruise ship will become the new flagship of the P&O Cruises fleet and will be capable of carrying some 5,200 passengers.
The yet-to-be-named cruise ship will offer more choice of accommodations, more places to eat, more space relax, more entertainment options and more freedom that ever before! Furthermore, the new ship will also be the most environmentally friendly and efficient ship that P&O Cruises have built.
Entries for the competition can be made on the P&O Cruises website here. Entries must be made before the closing date of 31 July 2017.
Paul Ludlow, Senior Vice President, P&O Cruises, said: “It is incredibly important that we have a name that reflects the ship’s heritage as well as highlighting the array of new cruising experiences it will offer – something memorable and dignified that reflects its position as the new star in our fleet. I encourage the general public to get their thinking caps on but also to remember that naming a ship is akin to naming a child. The name is an inherent part of its personality and is something that will sail with it for life!” The winning name will be chosen by a panel of judges, with the name for the new P&O Cruises flagship being officially announced early in 2018. The winner will receive a money can’t buy prize and become part of history, as well as an invitation for two VIP places at the naming ceremony of the ship in Spring 2020.
