The Royal Air Force Red Arrows performed a stunning aerobatic display above the Cunard fleet off the coast of the Isle of Wight in the Solent on 10 August 2018.
The cruise line’s iconic flagship Queen Mary 2 and her sister ships Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth met in Southampton for the first time in three years.
The Three Queens set sail from their berths at Southampton at approximately 17:30 heading down the Solent towards the Isle of Wight, where the Red Arrows then performed a aerobatic display over the iconic Cunarders.
Thousands of spectators lined the shores at to catch a glimpse of the historic occasion at around 19:30.The display is part of Cowes week, one of the UK’s longest running and most successful sporting events, staging around 40 races each day for around 1,000 boats. It is the largest sailing regatta of its kind in the world.
This year is the 54th season of the Red Arrows which have flown almost 4,900 displays in 57 countries.
