Riviera Travel Announces Godmothers For Two New River Ships

Riviera Travel has announced the two competition winners who will officially christen the company’s two five-star new river cruise ships. The competition was open to travel agents in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
 
Christiana Astill from Go-Cruise will be Godmother to the Emily Brontë and Tracey Scales from Travel Counsellors will be Godmother to Thomas Hardy.

​The two female travel agents were chosen at random from hundreds of entries and will be guest of honour to officially christen the ships in Amsterdam on 24 February 2017.
 
Joseph Grimley, Head of Agency Sales, Riviera Travel, said: “When I called Christina and Tracey to break the news they were both very excited. We decided it would be a refreshing change for two travel agents rather than celebrities to have the honour of becoming Godmothers to our new ships, in a competition that all ladies who entered had an equal chance of winning. After all, agents have played a huge part in our significant growth in European river cruising over the last few years. It promises to be a fantastic day where guests will have a unique preview of our new flag-ship river cruise product, while enjoying a champagne reception, sumptuous lunch on-board, and of course the all-important christening ceremony itself.”
