Saga Cruises has released more renderings of its first ever new build cruise ship, Spirit of Discovery, which is due to launch in summer 2019.
The latest renderings released by Saga Cruises include the luxury on board spa, the theatre and library.
The 999-passenger ship is currently under construction in Papenburg, Germany at the Meyer Werft shipyard. Construction is being led by David Pickett, who joined Saga Cruises from Carnival UK, where he worked on ships such as P&O Cruises' Britannia, Azura and Venutra.
The spa on board Spirit of Discovery will feature a hydrotherapy pool, surrounded by comfortable seating and heated stone loungers, as well as a salt-steam room and infrared sauna. The ship’s library will be one of the best-stocked collections of literature at sea and will also serve coffee and offer a variety of delicious cakes to enjoy. The 430-seat Playhouse Theatre will host a range of entertainment and live performances, including live music and cinema screenings.
All accommodation of board the ship will offer private balconies, 100 of which have been designed specifically for solo passengers. Other features announced previously by Saga Cruises include a three-deck-high atrium, a two-tiered main dining room and a free speciality Asian themed restaurant.
