The 2,670-passenger Sapphire Princess has arrived in Southampton to begin its summer season, following an extensive two-week refurbishment in Singapore.
Sapphire Princess spent 38 days cruising from Singapore, via the Indian Ocean and Europe visiting 17 ports of call before arriving in Southampton on 05 May 2018. It is the first time the cruise ship have ever visited Europe and the United Kingdom.
Improvements on board the new enhanced Sapphire Princess include new exclusive luxury beds, upgraded spa and treatment rooms, updated gym equipment, a new shopping boutique and a large LED screen in the theatre. Princess Cruises’ signature logo the ‘Sea Witch’ has also been painted onto the bow of the ship.
Tony Roberts, Vice President UK & Europe, Princess Cruises, said: “The timing of Sapphire Princess’ refit is perfect for UK guests and we now look forward to welcoming her to our shores both this year and in 2019. UK guests looking to recharge their batteries are in for a real treat as our luxury bed offers the ultimate night’s sleep on board. Meanwhile, the additional enhancements mean guests can take advantage of a wealth of upgraded on board options, from indulging in some retail therapy, to enjoying the spa, to unwinding in a yoga class.” Sapphire Princess will cruise from Southampton from May to October this year.
