Seabourn has announced the name of its first ultra-luxury purpose-built expedition ship which is set to launch in June 2021.
The 23,000 gross tonne vessel will be named Seabourn Venture, which according to the cruise line draws on its heritage in providing expedition experiences.
Seabourn Venture will be the first of two new purpose-built expedition ships for the ultra-luxury cruise line. A second is expected to launch in May 2022.
Seabourn Venture will measure 170 metres in length and will each accommodate 264 guests in 132 luxurious oceanfront veranda suites. The new ship will also meet the PC6 Polar Class standards, adding new capacity for Seabourn in Antarctica, the Artic and other exotic worldwide destinations. Both ships will be a brand new innovative design, designed especially for the ultra-luxury expedition cruise travellers. The ships will include many features currently found on Seabourn’s ultra-luxury cruise ships but the new vessel will also feature a host of unique features designed to enhance the expedition cruise experience. A submarine will be carried on board each of the new ships, proving an unforgettable view of the world beneath the waves. Each ship will also boast 24 Zodicas inflatable boats and a complement of kayaks. Seabourn will announce further details about the new ultra-luxury expedition ships later this year. Details of itineraries and booking availability are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
