Seabourn’s newest and largest luxury cruise ship, the 40,350 gross tonne Seabourn Encore has been officially named. The naming ceremony took place in Singapore on 07 January 2016.
The ship was named by its Godmother, the international recording artist, Sarah Brightman. The naming ceremony included lion and dragon dancers, drummers and stilt walkers to entertain the audience, which was made up of 1,050 passengers from the Seabourn Encore and smaller Seabourn Sojourn, along with trade partners from around the world.
The new luxury cruise ship which can accommodate 604 passengers, set sail on its inaugural voyage on 04 December 2016 from Piraeus.
Seabourn Encore is the largest luxury cruise ship ever to be built for Seabourn and will be followed by a sister ship, Seabourn Ovation which is due to arrive in April 2018.
