Princess Cruises latest new build cruise ship, Sky Princess, has successfully completed a series of sea trails ahead of its delivery in October 2019.
The 143,700 gross tonne cruise ship left the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy and spent six days at sea carrying out the trials.
During the sea trials, a vital part prior to the delivery of any new ship, Sky Princess carried out a series of maneuverers to test the ship’s propulsions, steering and navigational equipment.
The ship will be delivery to the Princess Cruises prior to its maiden voyage, a seven-night cruise from Athens to Barcelona.
Sky Princess will offer a number of cruises in the Mediterranean before its debut in North America, sailing to the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Sky Princess is the fourth of six Royal Class vessels to be ordered by the cruise line. The fifth, Enchanted Princess is expected to launch in June 2020. In addition, Princess Cruises has also ordered two next-generation 175,000 gross tonne cruise ships, due to enter service in 2023 and 2025.
