Saga’s first ever new build cruise ship, Spirit of Discovery has complete the conveyance from the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany to the North Sea.
The 58,250 gross tonne vessel, left the shipyard on 26 May 2019, completing its conveyance the following day.
Spirit of Discovery will now undergo technical and nautical sea trails until the middle of June. Saga will officially take delivery of the new ship on 20 June, before she arrives at her home port of Dover.
The naming ceremony will take place in Dover on 05 July. The inaugural ‘A British First’ cruise will depart on 10 July. The design of Spirit of Discovery showcases British style and excellence to the highest level, with all the architectural and interior design created by UK-based agency SMC.
