Around 1,300 people on board Viking Sky are started to be evacuated from the ship off the coast of Norway after the ship sent out a Mayday call after suffering engine failure.
The cruise ship lost power and was drifting dangerously close to the shore. The ship was reportedly just 2.5 miles from the shoreline, experiencing winds over 40 miles per hour and waves of 9 metres.
A total of four rescue helicopters began to evacuate the 1,300 passengers and crew which are on board the stricken vessel.
The Viking Sky was reportedly later able to restart one engine and is now anchored about 1.5 miles from the coast and no longer adrift.
