Virgin Voyages, the new cruise brand that is shaking up the travel industry, has announced its second cruise ship Captain, who will join the company.
Earlier this year, Virgin Voyages announced that Captain Wendy Williams will be first to command the cruise line’s first ship, Scarlet Lady. Captain Williams will be joined by Captain Marco Carsjen, who most recently worked for Holland America Line.
Captain Carsjen career at sea started in 1994 when he joined the company as a cadet officer and become Captain in 2010.
Virgin Voyages first cruise ship, the 110,000 gross tonne adults-only Scarlet Lady is set to be delivered to the cruise line in February 2020. The ship is currently under construction at the Fincanteri shipyard in Italy. The cruise line has a further three ships on order, due to delivery in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
