A woman is believed to have gone missing from Cunard Line’s Queen Mary 2. The ship departed New York yesterday heading for Philipsburg, St Maarten in the Caribbean.
The female passenger reportedly went missing this morning at around 08:00. The Queen Mary 2 immediately turned around retracing its route. Crew members have lined the decks looking for the woman. The Coast Guard has been alerted to assist with looking for the missing passenger.
Queen Mary 2 is due to arrive in Philipsburg, St Maarten on 26 December 2016. This is the first port of call on a 26-night round-trip Caribbean voyage.
Cunard Line is yet to release a statement about the search for the missing passenger.
