Following months of research, Voyages to Antiquity is to offer cruises in the Caribbean and Cube in Winter 2017 on board the 350-passenger Aegean Odyssey.
Voyages to Antiquity are known for cruising lesser-known and lesser-explorers regions of the world but this will be the visits first the cruise line have offered cruises to this part of the world.

Viking Cruises latest ocean cruise ship Viking Sun was floated out at the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, Italy, marking a milestone in the construction process.
Viking Sun will become the fourth ocean cruise ship in the Viking fleet and is set to launch in November 2017. The third ship, Viking Sky is currently also still under construction and is set to launch in February 2017, joining the two other ships, Viking Star and Viking Sea. Norwegian Cruise Line has announced its 2018-2019 cruise itineraries, which will see the cruise lines largest ship, Norwegian Escape set sail from New York City on regular seven-night cruises to Bermuda, Canada and New England, Bahamas and Florida.
The Norwegian Breakaway, which has been homeported from New York with it’s Big Apple inspired hull art, will leave New York in April 2018 to homeport Copenhagen sailing nine-night cruises to Scandinavia and Russia after a brief dry dock. The ship will return to New York in winter 2018 and will resume seven-night cruises to the Bahamas and Florida. Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ship which is still under construction, the Norwegian Bliss is being custom-built to operate seven-night Alaskan cruises from Seattle and will arrive in June 2018. The world’s largest cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas has set sail on its maiden transatlantic voyage, following its inaugural season in Europe.
Harmony of the Seas debuted in Southampton in May 2016 with a 3 and 4-night cruise followed by the official 7-night maiden voyage from Southampton to Barcelona. The ship has since been cruising the Mediterranean from Barcelona. Thomson Cruises has announced that three of its ships will cruise the Caribbean during the winter 2017/2018 cruise season.
In a prepared statement Thomson Cruises said: “"The Caribbean has long been a popular spot for cruise customers as demand for cruise holidays continues to increase year on year," World famous singer and songwriter, Demi Lovato is to perform at an exclusive concert taking place in St Maarten for passengers cruising with Celebrity Cruises over the December holidays. Demi Lovato is known for hits like “Cool for the Summer” and “Heart Attack” and also has a TV background as a child star on Disney’s Camp Rock. More recently she is known as an advocate for youth, mental health and LGBT issues. The concert will take place on 28 December 2016 in St Maarten with four Celebrity Cruises ships docked, Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Summit and Celebrity Reflection.
General admission tickets are $100 per person and VIP tickets which include a meet-and-greet are $300 per person. Tickets can be purchased on the Celebrity Cruises website and are on a first come, first serve basis and are only available to passengers booked on the four selected cruises. |
