Holland America Line is introducing a Chocolate Surprise parade on board its fleet of 15 cruise ships, on the last gala night of every cruise.
No longer will guests have to make their way to the buffet and wait in line for a late night tasty treat. The after-dinner Chocolate Surprise parade will offer guests bite-size treats in the main public areas on board the ships.

On 06 July 2017, Cunard Line's Queen Elizabeth passed the Royal Navy’s HMS Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier in the Moray Firth, off the coast of Scotland.
The luxury cruise ship, Queen Elizabeth was on a 13-night cruise around the British Isle when it passed HMS Queen Elizabeth. Both vessel were christened by Her Majesty The Queen.
Celebrity Cruises has revealed more details about its upcoming new cruise ship, Celebrity Edge, which is currently under construction in France, at the STX shipyard in St Nazaire. The new ship is expected to launch in December 2018.
At an event held in New York City on 27 June 2017, Celebrity Cruises revealed details about another innovative space on board Celebrity Edge. Cruise Cruises is expected to reveal more details about their new cruise ship, Celebrity Edge, which is currently under construction in France, at the STX shipyard.
Celebrity Cruises revealed details about the 129,500 gross tonne cruise ship in March 2017, during an event in Miami, where Nate Berkus, Design Ambassador as well as Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President & CEO, Celebrity Cruises and Richard D. Fain, Chairman & CEO, Royal Caribbean Cruises addressed an audience and live streamed the reveal to the world. The latest additional to Viking Ocean Cruises fleet of luxury cruise ships, Viking Sky, which joined the fleet in March 2017, was officially christened in Tromso, Norway on 22 June 2017.
The vessel is the third cruise ship launched by Viking Ocean Cruises in the last three years. The cruise line has another five cruise ships under construction or on order. The construction of the revolutionary new cruise ship for Celebrity Cruises, Celebrity Edge, has reached a milestone at the STX shipyard in St Nazaire, France.
The first block of the ship’s keel has been lowered into the dry dock. The 875-tone section is the first of many which will make up the new cruise ship. Princess Cruises has announced that Yao Ming and his wife, Ye Li, will be the Inaugural Cruise Ambassadors for the cruise line in China and will officially name the new Majestic Princess.
The ceremony and official naming will take place on board Majestic Princess in Shanghai on 09 July 2017, as the culmination of weeks of celebrations. The celebrations will uphold maritime traditions as well as featuring traditional Chinese, contemporary Chinese and western-inspired cultural performances. Saga Cruises celebrated its 20th Anniversary on 20 May 2017. The cruise line’s two cruise ships Saga Sapphire and Saga Pearl docked together in Dover for mark the special occasion. The ships departed that evening and shortly after a fireworks display took place over Dover Harbour for both passengers on board the two ships and those on the shore in Dover to enjoy. Cunard Line’s 2,014-passenger Queen Victoria is to undergo an extensive month long refurbishment, which will see new balcony staterooms added to the stern and upgrades to the current venues on board.
The planned refurbishment follows on from the success of the ‘remastering’ of Cunard Line’s flagship, Queen Mary 2, which took place in 2016. The ‘remastering’ of Queen Victoria will see a total of £34 million spent upgrading the refurbishing the ship. Cunard Line’s 90,049 gross tonne Queen Victoria has become the largest cruise ship to sail 900 miles up the Amazon River, before docking at Manaus.
The 2,014-passenger cruise ship is currently on a 120-night World Voyage round-trip from Southampton. Queen Victoria will visit 23 ports of call in 17 countries. |
