Harry Cotterill with Grand Mistral berthed directly beind On August 27th 2012 our especially assigned drawing of Ibero Cruceros’ Grand Mistral, just one of a number of drawings which we have produced recently, was presented aboard the vessel. Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester and Gavin Pamment, Photographer, Dream Designs Colchester took the opportunity to visit Harwich International Port to see the 47,000 tonne vessel berthed alongside the Cruise Terminal. Whilst there Gavin took the chance to take a number of photographs of Harry and his newest drawing with the ship berthed directly behind. Unfortunately we had been unable to arrange a visit aboard Grand Mistral to officially present the drawing. However whilst at Harwich International Port, Harry was lucky enough to meet two crew members outside the Cruise Terminal and asked them if they could possibly present the drawing of Grand Mistral to the Captain on our behalf. Both the crew members were most helpful and friendly and agreed to take the drawing aboard with them. As our drawing was handed over to the two crew members they both thanked Harry for his kind gift with a firm hand shake and boarded the ship. Harry and Gavin then decided to watch Grand Mistral depart from the Cruise Terminal at Harwich International Port, which was scheduled at 19:00. Due to a number of passengers who arrived late the ship did not depart from the Cruise Terminal until 20:15. Unlike many of the other ships which call to Harwich International Port, Grand Mistral berthed bow first, so had to carefully maneuvers 180 degrees. Once the ship had turned Harry and Gavin swiftly made their way to Ha’penny Pier where they watched the ship past. Harry and Gavin then watched Grand Mistral sailed past the Port of Felixstowe before heading out to sea knowing that our new drawing was aboard steadily sailing in to the distance. Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester said: “It was quite an impressive sight to see Grand Mistral alongside the Cruise Terminal at Harwich International Port earlier this week and a pleasure to be joined by the newest member of the Dream Designs Colchester team, Gavin Pamment.” He added: “I was delighted to meet with the two crew members from Grand Mistral and was most grateful to them for kindly agreeing to take the drawing aboard as I was unable to visit the ship personally on this occasion, I do hope the Captain has indeed received the drawing and anticipate hearing from him shortly.” ENDS

Harry Cotterill at Harwich Port with Thomson Spirit behind At Dream Designs Colchester we are delighted to be able to take this opportunity and officially announce to you, two of our latest forthcoming ship visits as well as another official drawing presentation. We recently took the opportunity to contact the crew aboard Thomson Spirit to request permission to visit the ship and meet with the Captain to officially present our brand new especially assigned drawing of Thomson Spirit. During the summer of 2009, the staff at Harwich International Port were kind enough to agree to present our previously assigned drawing to the Captain of Thomson Spirit on our behalf. In return the Captain later invited us aboard the ship on August 28th 2009 where we had the chance to tour the ship and see our drawing which had been framed and displayed in the ship’s reception. We were also invited to visit the bridge although the Captain had disembarked the ship so he was unable to meet with us and join us for lunch aboard. The crew aboard Thomson Spirit have been kind enough to accept our recent request and have granted us permission to visit the ship. In fact our staff have been given the chance to visit the ship not once but twice, first on September 1st 2012 followed by a second visit on September 12th 2012. On September 1st 2012 Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester, and Gavin Pamment, Photographer, Dream Designs Colchester are set to visit Thomson Spirit, whilst the vessel is berthed alongside the Cruise Terminal at Harwich International Port. Whilst on board Harry and Gavin will have the privilege of meeting with the Captain, where the official presentation of our new drawing will take place. This will be followed by the chance to enjoy light refreshments before touring the ship’s various passenger amenities. On September 12th 2012 during our second planned visit to the ship, Harry and his parents will be joined by a group of Travel Agents as well as members of staff from Thomson’s Head Office and members of the Ocean Liner Society as well. Once embarked visitors will be invited on a complete tour of the ship’s passenger amenities, ending at reception. Harry will then be invited to see his brand new drawing of Thomson Spirit which will have been displayed alongside his previous drawing which was presented aboard by Harwich International Port in 2009. Harry and his parents along with the other visitors will then be invited to enjoy lunch aboard Thomson Spirit before disembarking the vessel later that afternoon. Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester, said: “We are very excited to be visiting Thomson Spirit again, not once but twice! All of our staff are incredibly thankful to the crew aboard Thomson Spirit for giving us such an opportunity.” He added: “This is a truly fantastic way for us to continue our connection and friendship with Thomson Cruises.” ENDS

This was in fact the second time that Dream Designs Colchester had visited Jewel of the Seas, the first being during the summer of 2009. Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester and his parents were invited aboard the vessel by the Master at the time, Captain James McDonald, after Mike Rawlings, Managing Director, Global Cruise Services (UK) Ltd presented our original drawing aboard the ship some weeks before. Jewel of the Seas has been based at Harwich International Port during the summer months since 2004, but the vessel will not be returning to the United Kingdom in 2013. She will instead be replaced by her sister vessel, Brilliance of the Seas. Due to the ever exceeding excellence of our drawing, as well as the fact Jewel of the Seas will not be returning in 2013, we took the decision to especially assign a brand new drawing of the ship in July 2012. We then took the opportunity to contact the crew aboard Jewel of the Seas to request permission to visit the ship to present the new drawing, before the ship leaves Harwich for the last time on August 31st 2012. Captain Stig Nilsen was kind enough to accept our request and granted us permission to visit Jewel of the Seas on August 19th 2012. Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester was joined aboard Jewel of the Seas by his father, Brian Cotterill. Upon boarding the vessel at approximately 10:30, they were escorted to reception in the ship’s main centrum on Deck 4. A short while later they were meant to the Staff Captain, Thomas Roth, who officially welcomed them aboard. Harry and his father Brian were then taken up to Deck 5 to Café Latte’-Tudes, which overlooks the ship’s impressive centrum, where they enjoyed a drink and pastry each, together with Staff Captain Thomas Roth. After chatting for quite some time Staff Captain, Thomas Roth then invited Harry and his father to visit the bridge and escorted them there personally. Harry was then given the opportunity to unveil his brand new drawing of Jewel of the Seas to the Staff Captain and other Officers on the navigation bridge. They then took the opportunity to have a number of photographs taken together with the drawing on the ship’s bridge wing. Harry was also given the chance to sit in the command seat on the bridge, where he had sat some 3 years previously, during his first visit aboard on August 21st 2009. Harry and his father then accepted the Staff Captain’s invitation to tour the ship’s passenger amenities with one of the Officers on the bridge. The complete tour of the ship from the upper pool decks, right down to the lower public decks, gave them the chance to admire the numerous restaurants, bars and lounges aboard Jewel of the Seas again, not the mention the more impressive areas, such as the centrum, theatre and main dining room. Upon completing the tour of the ship, the Officer then invited Harry and Brian back to the bridge, where they took the opportunity to take a number of photographs from the opposite bridge wing, overlooking Harwich International Port and the Cruise Terminal. At approximately 12:30, some 2 hours after boarding the ship, the Officer then escorted Harry and his father to the Promenade Deck on Deck 5, where they then disembarked the vessel. Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester, said: “My father and I had a truly wonderful time aboard Royal Caribbean International’s Jewel of the Seas on August 19th 2012, whilst the ship was alongside Harwich International Port. We were delighted when the Captain accepted our request and gave us the opportunity to visit the vessel again, before leave for the Caribbean on August 31st 2012.” He added: “It was a great honour for me personally to be able to meet with the Staff Captain, Thomas Roth and unveil to him my brand new drawing of Jewel of the Seas, which I am pleased to report is already displayed aboard the vessel!” He concluded: “This was a great opportunity for all of us at Dream Designs Colchester to continue our connection and friendship with Royal Caribbean International which started back in 2008.”

A short while later Captain Sergey Strusevych and the Cruise Director emerged together outside and greeted Harry and Gavin and then invited them both into the Hanse Bar. Harry was then given the opportunity to officially present his brand new especially assigned drawing of Astor to the Captain. In return Captain Sergey Strusevych presented Harry with a beautiful framed photograph of Astor. They were then invited to tour the ship’s numerous passenger amenities, including the ship’s various bars and lounges, such as the Astor Lounge as well as the enchanting Spa Oasis, before ending the tour at the Waldorf Restaurant. They were then invited to enjoy a delicious lunch in the Waldorf Restaurant. The 4 course lunch consisted of an appetising soup, which was followed by a light potato dish, before the scrumptious turkey breasts and potato salad and lovely ice cream desert. Upon finishing their lunch Harry and Gavin then spent the remainder of their time aboard Astor viewing the ship’s amenities for themselves, before disembarking the vessel at approximately 14:30. Late that evening Harry and Gavin took the opportunity to observe Astor once again from the Cruise Terminal at Harwich International Port. They then later watched the vessel set sail from Ha’penny Pier located on the seafront of the historic town of Harwich, and waved farewell to the ship, Captain Sergey Strusevych and his crew.
