Ahoy there! I wanted to take a brief moment to share with you all some of the photographs we purchased on board Cruise & Maritime Voyages' Marco Polo during our 3 night cruise on board last week. We had a truly fantastic cruise, exceeding our expectations! Marco Polo is a lovely ship, with so much character and charm. We we're worried she might not compare to the ships we have previously cruised on, but she was equally as impressive as the much larger ships. During the cruise, just before departing from Antwerp, we were invited to the bridge to meet with Captain Nikolaos Michaloliakos where I officially presented my drawing. The ship's photographer was there too! I do hope that you enjoy the small selection of photographs below. I have also included a full image of our especially assigned drawing of Marco Polo, with a link to additional images. Please do keep a look out for our full Cruise Report in the coming weeks, which will feature many of our own photographs and a full review of our time on board Marco Polo and on shore in Antwerp and Amsterdam! In the meantime don't forget to follow along with us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with the latest developments, news and drawings. Thank you for your continued support. A short while later they were met by Stuart Horne, Fleet Director, Voyages of Discovery who took them into the Cruise Terminal to collect their passes from the Passes Office before escorting them on board. Upon boarding Voyager, Stuart took Harry and Gavin to the Captain's cabin, where they met with the Master, Captain Oleksandr Tkachuk before being invited to the bridge for the official drawing presentation. Both Captain Tkachuk and Fleet Director, Stuart Horne seemed to be very impressed with the drawing of Voyager and spent a few minutes studying it! We have recently been informed by Voyages of Discovery that the drawing is proudly displayed on the bridge and we are awaiting photographs to share with you. Following the official drawing presentation, both Harry and Gavin took the chance to explore the bridge. They of course could not miss the opportunity to each have a photograph taken on the bridge wing. Captain Tkachuk then invited Harry and Gavin to tour Voyager's passenger amenities. The Captain introduced them to Yuriy Oboychuk, Safety Officer who would guide them around the ship. Their guided tour started at the very top of Voyager on the Sun Deck, where Harry and Gavin got to see some of the outside deck space including the swimming pool, jacuzzis and Lido Bar as well as the funnel, before taking a look at The Bridge Club and Fitness Centre towards the aft. Moving down to the Bridge Deck, Safety Officer, Yuiry invited Harry and Gavin to enjoy breakfast with him in the Veranda Restaurant. They did not stop long before continuing the guided tour as Voyager was only berthed at Harwich International Port to disembark passengers. The tour continued on Discovery Deck, where Harry and Gavin had a brief look at the Darwin Lounge and Lookout Lounge. Heading towards the aft of the ship they passed through Scott's Lounge, the Library and the Shop before entering the Discovery Restaurant. Lastly their guided tour took them down to the Livingstone Deck, where they got to take a look at the Reception and Shore Excursions desk. Unfortunately as Voyager was only berthed alongside the Cruise Terminal at Harwich International Port for a short period of time to disembark passengers only, it was a brief visit on board and lots of the public areas where full of passengers waiting to disembark with their luggage. Yuriy Oboychuk, Safety Officer then guided Harry and Gavin back to Discovery Deck where they had boarded Voyager and disembarked the vessel with them. Having disembarked Voyager they handed back their passes to the Passes Office in the Cruise Terminal. Before leaving Harwich International Port, Harry and Gavin took the opportunity to take a number of photographs with Voyager berthed behind them. Harry especially took a moment to have a photograph taken with a Voyages of Discovery flag which was kindly given to him by Harwich International Port some years previously.
