Today, Tuesday 29th November 2011, one of our most recent especially assigned drawings, of P&O Cruises Australia's Pacific Dawn, set sail from Dream Designs Colchester, beginning it's journey to Australia.

The drawing was especially assigned earlier this year when Bradley Yesberg, a keen follower of Dream Designs Colchester contacted us to ask if it would be possible for him to be given the opportunity to present a drawing of Pacific Dawn to the Captain of the vessel on our behalf during his planned cruise aboard the vessel in January 2012.

Dream Designs Colchester were delighted to offer Bradley such an opportunity and assigned a drawing especially for him to officially present to the Captain of Pacific Dawn on behalf of Dream Designs Colchester during his cruise aboard.

In a previous blog post, Bradley Yesberg, said:

" I'm excited to have this opportunity to present the drawing of Pacific Dawn on behalf of Harry and Dream Designs Colchester. When I meet Harry, I wanted to take a drawing aboard with me, and this was the first thing I thought of when I booked my holiday."

Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester, said:

" Last week we took the opportunity to contact P&O Cruises Australia to discuss with them the possibility of Bradley Yesberg officially presenting our drawing of Pacific Dawn to the Captain of the vessel. "

He added:

" At present we are still awaiting a reply, but we shall endeavour to do our best to arrange for Bradley Yesberg to officially present our drawing to the Captain on our behalf. "

Holland America Line's 81,769 tonne Oosterdam at sea
Dream Designs Colchester are very proud and honoured to be able to take this opportunity to inform you of our very latest ambitious plan for our next upcoming official drawing presentation.

On January 7th 2012, our Volunteers @ Sea, John & Marilyn are set to board Holland America Line's 81,769 tonne Oosterdam, before departing on their 7 night cruise aboard the vessel.

Whilst on board, it is hoped John & Marilyn will be lucky enough to meet with the Captain of the vessel to officially present our especially assigned drawing of Oosterdam, on behalf of Dream Designs Colchester.

In May 2009, Holland America Line's newest vessel Eurodam, visited Harwich International Port as part of her inaugural season. A number of weeks before the arrival of Eurodam, Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester decided to especially assign a drawing of the vessel, with the ambition of the drawing being presented to the Captain of the vessel.

On May 10th 2009, Dream Designs Colchester took the opportunity to visit Harwich International Port to view Eurodam berthed alongside the cruise terminal. Whilst there, we were lucky enough to meet with a senior member of staff at Harwich International Port, who was kind enough to contact the Second Officer aboard Eurodam.

Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester was extremely lucky, when he was invited aboard Eurodam to briefly meet with the Second Officer to hand over his especially assigned drawing of the vessel, which would be past on to the Captain. Later that evening before the vessel departed Harwich International Port, a member of crew from aboard Eurodam was sent ashore, to present a gift to us which the Captain had sent to thank us for our drawing.

Our especially assigned drawing of Oosterdam is due to depart Dream Designs Colchester later this week, before arriving at our Volunteers @ Seas, John & Marilyn's home in Seattle in the United States.

" We are delighted that our Volunteers @ Sea, John & Marilyn have agreed to officially present our drawing of Holland America Line's Oosterdam on behalf of Dream Designs Colchester during their cruise aboard the vessel."

He added:

" We are also excited to have such an opportunity to continue our relationship with Holland America Line. Since our drawing presentation took place aboard Eurodam in May 2009, our drawings have improved considerably and I am sure Holland America Line will acknowledge our improvements. "

P&O Cruises Australia's Pacific Dawn at sea
Dream Designs Colchester are very proud to have this opportunity to announce to you, another exciting upcoming event in our illustrious history of outstanding achievements.

Recently, one of our many loyal fans and followers, Bradley Yesberg, who lives in Australia contacted us to ask if it would be possible for him to be given the opportunity to officially present a drawing on behalf of Dream Designs Colchester during his upcoming cruise aboard P&O Cruises Australia's Pacific Dawn.

On January 7th 2012, Bradley shall board Pacific Dawn in Brisbane, Australia, along with his girlfriend and her mother, before departing on their 7 night cruise around the South Pacific.

Earlier this month, we especially assigned a drawing of Pacific Dawn. We also recently contacted P&O Cruises Australia to discuss if it will be possible for our drawing to be officially presented to the Captain of the vessel.

It is hoped whilst aboard Pacific Dawn P&O Cruises Australia will be kind enough to given Bradley the opportunity to officially present our especially assigned drawing of Pacific Dawn to the Captain of the vessel.
Bradley Yesberg, said:

" I'm excited to have this opportunity to present the drawing of Pacific Dawn on behalf of Harry and Dream Designs Colchester. When I meet Harry, I wanted to take a drawing aboard with me, and this was the first thing I thought of when I booked my holiday."

In late December 2010, we especially assigned a drawing of P&O Cruises Australia's Pacific Jewel. Later in January 2011, we decided to take the opportunity to send our drawing of Ann Sherry, CEO, Carnival Australia. Sadly we never received a reply from P&O Cruises Australia.

Our especially assigned drawing of Pacific Dawn will depart Dream Designs Colchester and begin its journey to Australia later this month, during which time it will travel over 10,000 miles, before it is taken aboard the vessel and hopefully officially present to the Captain of the vessel.
Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester, said:

" We are very excited to have been able to offer such an opportunity to Bradley Yesberg. We do hope that whilst aboard Pacific Dawn, Bradley will have the chance to meet with the Captain and officially present our especially assigned drawing, like numerous others have done previously, on behalf of Dream Designs Colchester. "

He added:

" We hope that the officially presentation of our drawing to the Captain of Pacific Dawn will enable us to form another close connection and relationship, with yet another of the world's leading cruise line operators. "

Remembering Queen Elizabeth 2

Queen Elizabeth 2 arriving at Southampton for the last time
Today, Friday 11th November 2011, marks 3 years since Cunard Line's famous and much loved ocean liner, Queen Elizabeth 2 departed Southampton on her final voyage, before being permanently berthed at her new home in Dubai, where the vessel still remains, although her future in uncertain.

Dream Designs Colchester has had a close connection with Cunard Line for a number of years, but unfortunately we were never lucky enough to have the opportunity visit Queen Elizabeth 2.

In October 2011, Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester took the opportunity to visit the City of Southampton, before boarding Queen Mary 2, to view the anchor of Queen Elizabeth 2, which was donated to the City of Southampton earlier this year.

Before visiting the City of Southampton, we took a moment to especially 'refurbished' one of our previously assigned drawings of Queen Elizabeth 2 which was originally assigned in November 2009.

In October 2011, Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester and his father, Brian Cotterill where given the opportunity to meet with the Master of Queen Mary 2, Captain Kevin Oprey, during their 2 night voyage aboard, where they took the opportunity to have a photograph taken of our 'refurbished' drawing of Queen Elizabeth 2 on the navigation bridge.

Today is also Armistice Day, where we take a moment to remember all of those who have lost their lives in War to fight for their county. At 11:00am two minutes silence was held across the United Kingdom. Shopping centres, offices, schools and high streets fell silent in memory of those who have lost their lives while serving their country. The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month marks the end of World War I when Germany and Allied troops reached a peace agreement in 1918.
