It is always a great pleasure for us to have the chance to further these vital connection.

Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester will be joined on board Thomson Spirit by Gavin Pamment, Chief Photographer, Dream Designs Colchester.

Our connection with Thomson Cruises began in August 2009 when we were invited aboard Thomson Spirit, following the presentation of our original drawing aboard the vessel on our behalf by Harwich International Port some two weeks earlier.

In September 2012 we continued our connection with Thomson Cruises further, with two ship visits aboard Thomson Spirit at Harwich International Port. Notarakis on the bridge.

Island Sky Ship Visit & Official Drawing Presentation: CANCELLED!

1/8/2013

PictureNobel Caledonia's Island Sky
Following our announcement yesterday, concerning our forthcoming ship visit and official drawing presentation aboard Island Sky on August 7th 2013 at Harwich International Port, it is a great disappointment that we have to report that the planned visit has now been CANCELLED.

Noble Caledonia informed us yesterday afternoon that the planned brief visit will no longer be possible, due to Harwich International Port requesting that no visitors to the ship.

Island Sky is will be berthed at Berth 3 at the Port, as on the same day the only cruise facility available will be used by Brilliance of the Seas.

The berth which the ship has been allocated has been described as a ‘remote berthed with no access’. The berth is normally used by passenger and/or cargo ferries.

The staff at Noble Caledonia were only made aware that no visitors were allowed on board Island Sky after Harwich International Port informed them of this on July 30th. Prior to this on the same day we contacted the Port to ask about accessing the ship at Berth 3 and were informed that no visitors were allowed, which we immediately reported to Noble Caledonia.

Noble Caledonia informed us that we were indeed correct with reporting that visitors were not allowed and extended their sincere apologies in having to cancel the planned visit to Island Sky. In addition to this Noble Caledonia informed us that Island Sky is not due to berthed at Harwich International Port in 2014, but that it might be possible to visit the ship at Portsmouth on May 24th 2014.
Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester, said:

" Following our correspondence with Harwich International Port, who informed us that no visitors were allowed, we were disappointed to have this later confirmed by Noble Caledonia who have now cancelled the planned visit. This matter had clearly not been communicated between the cruise line, ship and Port. "

He added:

" I would like to make it clear however that we are indeed aware of the lack of facilities for cruise ships at Berth 3 at Harwich International Port on such rare occasions when they are required to berth there and we understand the decision to prevent any visitors for boarding Island Sky."
