Costa Voyager at Harwich International Port
On July 20th 2013, we had the opportunity to visit Costa Voyager during the vessel’s inaugural visit to Harwich International Port. Upon boarding Costa Voyager we were met by the Guest Relations Manager and taken on a guided tour of the ships various passenger venues, including the Selene Restaurant and the Alexander The Great Lounge. Following the extensive guided tour of Costa Voyager, we we’re invited to enjoy a drink together with the Guest Relations Manager in the Sirene Piano Bar. After our drink in the Sirene Piano Bar the Guest Relations Manager took us to meet the Staff Captain,Francesco Parisi in his office before making our way with him to the Atiruim. We were then given the opportunity to officially present our especially assigned drawing of Costa Voyager to both the Staff Captain and Guest Relations Manager. In return for our drawing we were each presented him a beautiful model of the ship. Following the presentation of the drawing we were invited to tour the ship at our leisure and enjoy lunch on board at the Avra Café before disembarking the vessel. At Dream Designs Colchester we are very proud of the close connections and friendships which we have with many of the world’s leading cruise lines. It is always a great pleasure for us to have the chance to further these vital connection. We’re thrilled to be working with Thomson Cruises again and to have the opportunity to continue our close connection with them, with our forth visit aboard Thomson Spirit, this weekend on August 10th 2013 at Harwich International Port. Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester will be joined on board Thomson Spirit by Gavin Pamment, Chief Photographer, Dream Designs Colchester. Our connection with Thomson Cruises began in August 2009 when we were invited aboard Thomson Spirit, following the presentation of our original drawing aboard the vessel on our behalf by Harwich International Port some two weeks earlier. On October 27th 2010, Harwich International Port kindly presented our especially assigned drawing aboard Thomson Dream on our behalf, during the vessel’s inaugural call. In September 2012 we continued our connection with Thomson Cruises further, with two ship visits aboard Thomson Spirit at Harwich International Port. During the first of these two visits on September 1st 2012 we officially presented our brand new especially assigned drawing to the Master of Thomson Spirit, Captain Ioannis D. Notarakis on the bridge. During the second of these two visits on September 12th 2012, we joined a group of visitors from the Ocean Liner Society and we were able to view our brand new drawing in its framed, but which at that time had not yet been displayed. During the forthcoming visit this weekend it is hoped that we might have the chance to view the new drawing of Thomson Spirit on display and perhaps meet with Captain Ioannis D. Notarakis again. Nobel Caledonia's Island Sky
Following our announcement yesterday, concerning our forthcoming ship visit and official drawing presentation aboard Island Sky on August 7th 2013 at Harwich International Port, it is a great disappointment that we have to report that the planned visit has now been CANCELLED. Noble Caledonia informed us yesterday afternoon that the planned brief visit will no longer be possible, due to Harwich International Port requesting that no visitors to the ship. Island Sky is will be berthed at Berth 3 at the Port, as on the same day the only cruise facility available will be used by Brilliance of the Seas. The berth which the ship has been allocated has been described as a ‘remote berthed with no access’. The berth is normally used by passenger and/or cargo ferries. The staff at Noble Caledonia were only made aware that no visitors were allowed on board Island Sky after Harwich International Port informed them of this on July 30th. Prior to this on the same day we contacted the Port to ask about accessing the ship at Berth 3 and were informed that no visitors were allowed, which we immediately reported to Noble Caledonia. Noble Caledonia informed us that we were indeed correct with reporting that visitors were not allowed and extended their sincere apologies in having to cancel the planned visit to Island Sky. In addition to this Noble Caledonia informed us that Island Sky is not due to berthed at Harwich International Port in 2014, but that it might be possible to visit the ship at Portsmouth on May 24th 2014.
