 Carnival Spirit photographed in Sydney harbor Last week we were informed by Bradley Yesberg that our drawing of Carnival Spirit arrived in Australia. Bradley is due to present our especially assigned drawing on our behalf, to the Master of the vessel, Captain Adriano Binachi, during his 3 night cruise board the vessel in February 2013. In January 2012, Bradley presented our drawing of P&O Cruises Australia's Pacific Dawn to the Captain. Bradley Yesberg, said: " I wanted to let you know I received the Carnival Spirit drawing in store yesterday – its awesome!!! Thanks so much! "

 Our Volunteers @ Sea, John & Marilyn presented our drawing to the Captain At Dream Designs Colchester we are delighted to inform you that our first official drawing presentation of 2013 was a success! On January 16th 2013 our honourable Volunteers @ Sea, John & Marilyn officially presented our especially assigned drawing of Celebrity Summit to the Captain of the vessel. The drawing presentation took place during John & Marilyn’s own 7 night cruise aboard the vessel in the Caribbean. Prior to John & Marilyn embarking Celebrity Summit we worked closely with Celebrity Cruises to arrange the official presentation of our drawing. On board Celebrity Summit the Event Coordinator, Debbie Fossett, assisted in scheduling the drawing presentation.

John & Marilyn were invited to the bridge on January 16th 2013, where they met with the Master of Celebrity Summit, Captain Theodoros Zakkas. They were then given the opportunity to officially present our especially assigned drawing. The ship’s on board photographer was also there to capture a photograph of the presentation! Volunteer @ Sea, John, said: “ Captain Theodoros Zakkas did mention that he will have it framed and probably display it with the schematics of the ship behind the bridge.”

Our latest especially assigned drawing, the first for 2013, of Carnival Cruise Line's 85,920 tonne Carnival Spirit is to be presented to the Captain of the vessel on our behalf in February 2013. One of our previously drawings of Carnival Spirit which was assigned in 2010 was due to be present to the Captain of the vessel on our behalf. However the individual who was given this opportunity provided us with no evidence of the presentation, nor did the Captain or the ship ever respond as promised by the individual. We know that this second planned drawing presentation aboard Carnival Spirit will be a success! On December 22nd 2012 our especially assigned drawing of Princess Cruises’ Golden Princess was officially presented to the Master of vessel, Captain Vincenzo Lubrano. The especially assigned drawing was presented to the Captain on behalf of Dream Designs Colchester by one of our fellow followers Patty Glueck. The official drawing presentation took place during Patty’s very own 14 night Hawaiian cruise aboard Golden Princess. Sometime before Patty boarded Golden Princess we took the opportunity to get in touch with Princess Cruises in an attempt to arrange for Patty to meet with the Captain in order to officially present the drawing to the Captain. Upon boarding Golden Princess, Patty visited the Passenger Services Desk to inform them of the planned drawing presentation which they were unaware of. Inevitably Patty handed the drawing to the ship's Future Cruise Consultant during the Captain's Circle Party.  Patty Glueck officially presents our especially assigned drawing of Golden Princess to Captain Vincenzo Lubrano and the Hotel General Manager and Senior Officers on the bridge of the vessel A few days later Patty was later invited to the bridge where she was given the opportunity to officially present the drawing of Golden Princess to Captain Vincenzo Lubrano in person on our behalf. Also present for the presentation were many of the ship's Senior Officers as well as the Hotel General Manager. Patty and her family were given a complete tour of the bridge by an officer and in return for our drawing were presented with souvenir.  Captain Vincenzo Lubrano kindly presents Patty and her husband Harvey with a souvenir in return for our drawing of Golden Princess Master of Golden Princess, Captain Vincenzo Lubrano, wrote: " On behalf of the officers and crew aboard Golden Princess, we would like to thank you for the drawing of our vessel. We intend to display it aboard the vessel." He continued: " Everybody that viewed the drawing, including myself was in sheer admiration. This is a unique skill that you possess and the attention to detail was appreciated. "  Patty and her husband Harvey photographed on the navigation bridge together with two of the Senior Officers aboard Golden Princess Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester, said: " I would like to take this opportunity to extend my greatest appreciation and thanks to everyone who helped make this drawing presentation a great success, including Patty and her husband Harvey, Captain Vincenzo Lubrano and his crew as well as the staff from Princess Cruises Headquarters." He added: " We were extremely pleased with the end result of this presentation and thrilled to hear that Captain Vincenzo Lubrano plans to display our drawing aboard Golden Princess." Earlier today we booked a 2 night mini cruise aboard P&O Cruises' Azura, sailing from Southampton on April 16th 2013. After departing Southampton at 16:30, Azura will arrive at St Peter Port, Guernsey, before returning back to Southampton the following day. We were delighted to again book our cruise through Reader Offers Ltd, the UK's leading cruise retailer, located in Colchester at Lexden House. At Dream Designs Colchester we are proud of the many connections and friendships we have formed with many of the world's leading cruise lines. We have a particularly close friendship with P&O Cruises, which originated sometime ago. We have had a number of our especially assigned drawings presented aboard various ships within the P&O Cruises' fleet, including Aurora, Arcadia, Oceana and of course Azura. On July 3rd 2012 we joined the many thousands of others at Southampton and Calshot to witness P&O Cruises' 'Grand Event' and celebrate their 175th Anniversary.

Azura holds a particularly close connection with Dream Designs Colchester. Our staff followed the design and construction of the vessel closely and we invited to the official Naming Ceremony of the vessel on April 10th 2010, where we had the chance to meet with Carol Marlow, Managing Director, P&O Cruises.

The start of the firework celebration was signaled with the sound of a claxon from the nearby Trinity House. £6,500 worth of fireworks lit up the night sky for more than 10 minutes as the crowd watched in awe. It was said that the fireworks weighed in nearly 3.5 tonnes! Brian Hill, Chairman of the Fireworks Committee, said: "The Harwich Quay New Year’s Eve fireworks display has now become firmly established as one of the highlights in Harwich’s calendar and this year’s display was a spectacular success". He added: "Our extreme gratitude is extended to all who have played a part in the event’s production."
