Our latest especially assigned drawing of Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Summit is planned to be part of an officially drawing presentation in January 2013. Our intention is to officially present our brand new drawing of Celebrity Summit to the Captain of the vessel. Our admirable Volunteers @ Sea, John & Marilyn have kindly agreed to present the drawing on behalf of Dream Designs Colchester. John & Marilyn will be spending 7 nights aboard Celebrity Summit exploring the Southern Caribbean. During their cruise it is hoped that they will be lucky enough to have the opportunity to meet with the Captain and officially present our drawing. Dream Designs Colchester first established a connection with Celebrity Cruises in 2009. During the summer of 2009 our drawing of Celebrity Constellation was presented aboard the vessel at Harwich International Port on behalf of Dream Designs Colchester by Global Cruise Services (UK). We were later invited to visit Celebrity Constellation on August 22nd 2009 by the Master of Celebrity Constellation, Captain Nikolas Pagonis. Whilst on board we were given a complete tour of the vessel and even visited the bridge where we saw our drawing in its frame. We also enjoyed lunch on board in the Seaside Café & Grill on Deck 10. In September 2009 we had the chance to visit Celebrity Constellation again, where we had the opportunity to view our drawing on display in the Fun Factory! On September 22nd 2010 our drawing of Celebrity Solstice was presented to Captain Dimitrios Kafetzis on our behalf by our loyal website follower, Charlene Gault during her very own 2 week back to back cruise. Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester, said: " 2013 is already looking to be a very exciting year for Dream Designs Colchester. We feel very proud and honoured to be working together with our Volunteers @ Sea, John & Marilyn again in arranging this official drawing presentation. " He added: " The planned presentation of our new drawing of Celebrity Summit will be a fantastic opportunity for Dream Designs Colchester to continue and further develop their connection with Celebrity Cruises. Our Volunteers @ Sea, Debbie & Earl were kind enough to agree to presented our drawing of Carnival Freedom during their very own cruise. They were lucky enough to be able to visit the navigation bridge where they officially presented the especially assigned drawing to Captain Ettore Bovo. Prior to Debbie & Earl embarking Carnival Freedom we were unable to confirm or arrange for them to meet with the Captain to present the drawing on behalf of Dream Designs Colchester. Fortunately they met with Captain Ettore Bovo at the Captain's Celebration and whilst speaking to him mentioned our drawing, which lead to them being invited to the bridge, together with other family members and visitors. Just 9 days previously Debbie & Earl had officially presented brand new our especially assigned drawing aboard Carnival Liberty to Captain PierLuigi Barrile. Harry Cotterill, President & Managing Director, Dream Designs Colchester, said: " I am extremely thankful to our honourable Volunteers @ Sea, Debbie & Earl, as well as their family for doing a truly fantastic job of presenting our drawing of Carnival Freedom. In May 2012 we took the decision to especially assign a brand new drawing of the S.S. United States to commemorate the 60 anniversary of the ship. The drawing was sent to Susan Gibbs, Executive Director, S.S. United States Conservancy a short while later as an act of generosity and support. The drawing donated from Dream Designs Colchester was present at a special event held in Philadelphia on June 15th 2012, United States and was featured in the S.S. United States Conservancy’s regular newsletter. Photographed with our especially assigned drawing were members of the S.S. United States Conservancy, including Susan Gibbs, Dan McSweeney, Greg Shutters, Cassie Alvarez, Sarah Carley and Margaret Stack. Our aim of producing and donating the drawing was to help support and raise funds for the S.S. United States Conservancy whilst also raising awareness. We were recently informed that the drawing is still in the office in Philadelphia and awaiting for an appropriate venue where it can be auctioned, although there are plans to keep the drawing displayed at the office. Susan Gibbs, Executive Director, S.S. United States Conservancy, said: "We were delighted and honored to receive Harry's beautiful drawing of the SS United States on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the ship's maiden voyage. This generous donation to the Conservancy has been a big boost to our public awareness efforts during the ship's 60th anniversary celebrations." She added: " It is currently on display in our Philadelphia offices and it provides our entire staff with daily inspiration. We plan to auction the drawing off at a future event and are deeply grateful to Harry for sharing his talents and for reaching "across the pond" to assist in our efforts on behalf of 'the Big Ship'."
