Ambition Drawing Presentation

In December 2023, I was lucky enough to enjoy a three-night festive getaway cruise on board Ambassador Cruise Line’s second ship, Ambition. The cruise set sail from Tilbury, London, and called into Antwerp in Belgium, where the ship stayed overnight, before returning to Tilbury.

Ambassador Cruise Line very generously invited me on board Ambition for this festive cruise so that I could officially present my large-scale drawing of the ship, which they had asked me to produce earlier this year after I presented them with a drawing of their flagship Ambience during a visit aboard in the summer.

Back in July we agreed that if I were to produce a drawing of Ambition, ready to present on board in December, I could join the three-night cruise to Antwerp in return for my artwork! Ambassador Cruise Line very kindly kept their promise, and I boarded the ship in Tilbury, together with my partner, on 8 December setting sailing for Antwerp. We had a wonderful time exploring the city, especially the Christmas markets and enjoyed our time on board Ambition.

During our second day docked in Antwerp, we were invited to the bridge, along with a group of other visitors. Here I was given the chance to meet with captain and met with the hotel director, who remembered me from my drawing presentation on board Ambience. The captain seemed impressed by my drawing of Ambition and was very keen to ensure it was displayed in a public area on board.

The shoreside team from Ambassador Cruise Line, who had arranged the cruise for me, had already organised for the drawing to be taken ashore to be framed, along with my drawing of Ambience, before they are each taken back aboard the respective ships and displayed somewhere on board. I believe the drawing of Ambience is to be displayed in the craft room on Deck 5, however a suitable location on Ambition is still yet to be confirmed.

The drawing presentation on board Ambition, was a very special occasion for me personally since this was the 100th ship which my artwork had been presented and or displayed on board. This significant milestone more than 14 years after my first drawing presentation, when I was just 14 years old.
