I am excited to announce, that for the first time in four years, I am returning to sea, having recently starting drawing again. Well almost at least! For those of you that know me well, or follow my social media accounts closely, you may be aware that since September 2019, I have been busy studying at Durham University. I still have a year to go before completing my degree, but for the first time in ages, this summer I returned to the drawing board. Last summer, I started drawing Ambassador Cruise Line’s flagship, Ambience. I did no get around to completing the drawing last year. Since I’ve been back home from university this summer, I decided to work hard and get it finished, finally! The drawing is now complete and has been seen my many thousands online. Many of you have been really kind and shared your joy for seeing my artwork again after so long. I am particularly thankful to those who are members of the Friends of Ambassador Cruise Line Facebook group. Now for the really exciting bit… Tomorrow, on 07 July 2023, I will be visiting Ambience, whilst the ship is docked at London International Cruise Terminal in Tilbury, Essex. Whilst on board I will be meeting with the Captain on the bridge to officially present my large-scale drawing of the ship. Ambassador Cruise Line has informed me that they intend to display the drawing in the crafts room on board.
It will be great to step back aboard a ship, something I haven’t done since before Covid, and before I returned to university in 2019. It fact, it’s almost four years to the day! Ambience will be the 97th ship my drawings have been presented aboard. I hope many of you will be pleased to hear this news, and that you may follow along on the Cruise Cotterill Facebook and Twitter feeds. The large-scale drawing of Ambience can be viewed in our A-Z Gallery. Limited edition prints of the drawing can also be purchased from our online Shop.
