On October 12th 2013, Dream Designs Colchester joined close to 1,500 guests at the QEII Terminal to celebrate the 175 years of the Port of Southampton, to the exact day! The concert allowed the whole community to celebrate the 175 years of the Port of Southampton, with tickets available to purchase online prior to the celebration for just £10.00. The concert was a truly spectacular celebration to be part of and included so many diverse and wide ranging acts of amazing talent, from the wonderfully skilled String Fever to the stunning Love Soul Choir. Comedy, Kev Orkian, who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2010 was hilariously funny. Other acts included stars from the West End cast of Les Miserables! The concert was headlined by Shane Richie & The Prelude at the end that got the audience up on their feet dancing to celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the Port of Southampton until close to midnight! During the concert rare pictures and video of the Port of Southampton over the last 175 years were shown to the near 1,500 guests. 1 extremely lucky guest also won a 14 night cruise, courtesy of P&O Cruises! Also proceeds raise from the concert were donated to the Port of Southampton’s chosen charity of the year, Joe Glover Trust, which works closely with children suffering from cancer.
